Allison Rohland is an internationally-shown, abstract artist living and creating in San Francisco, California. Her work expresses the integration and celebration of the fragmented parts of ourselves. Since 2014, she’s instructed artists with intellectual disabilities and Autism, and been honing her own craft. Her body of work consists of emotive abstracts using bold texture and color through mixed media.
"My work explores celebrating and integrating the cast aside parts of ourselves. What if we took the pieces of ourselves we deem broken and view them in a new way? It is often the parts that we most want to hide, that are the ones that most need to be seen in the process of building and healing the self.
My collection of works represented by Piper J Gallery are the celebration of the inner child. Integrating colorful and playful marks to bring back that sense of nostalgia. This body of work was completed during my time in San Francisco and heavily influenced by the color, the vibrant cultures that paralleled this celebration of the inner child. " - Allison Rohland
